Wrestlemania 38 is right around the corner and we’re still waiting to find out what our Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns will be doing at Mania. We all thought and hoped that two weeks ago at Survivor Series we were going to see The Rock show up at the end of the main event and challenge Reigns to a match at Mania. This did not happen and it is now almost all but confirmed that we will not be seeing a Rock vs. Reigns match at this year’s WrestleMania. But… that doesn’t mean we won’t be seeing The Rock at WrestleMania. This is my fantasy booking for setting up the biggest wrestling match in recent memory, The Rock vs. Roman Reigns.

We’ve got the Royal Rumble coming up and as much as I would like to see a guy like Jeff Hardy win it, we’re likely going to see Brock Lesnar win his second rumble match. He will now go on to face Reigns at Wrestlemania 38 for the Universal Championship. After the Rumble, we’ll get a typical buildup to Reigns vs. Lesnar and I think Paul Heyman is going to be put right in the middle which will be make things interesting. The main event of night two at Wrestlemania 38 is Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar.

We’re now set at night two of WrestleMania 38. Roman is going to be the favorite to win. With everyone knowing Lesnar signed a contract earlier this year for just a few matches, nobody sees Lesnar being the guy to finally dethrone Reigns and be the face of the company. Although we already know what the outcome of the match will be, Lesnar and Reigns are going to put on a phenomenal match. These two have faced off on multiple different occasions over the past few years and I have a feeling this match will be the best out of all of their past matches. They are going to go all out for this WrestleMania. I believe Heyman is going to be heavily involved in the match and may even have a part in the finish of the match.

Reigns hits Lesnar with a spear and a superman punch to put him down. The ref counts one…two…three. Roman Reigns retains the Universal Championship and has now been the Universal Champion for over 500 days. The match ends. Him, Heyman, and The Uso’s are celebrating in the ring. Heyman grabs the mic and hands it to Reigns as the crowd is having a mixed reaction of cheers and boos. Reigns slowly lifts the mic up and begins talking about how he has put everyone in the company down. There is no one else for him to beat. He begins to say “and now you all have to acknowledge me as your tribal chief.” But The Rock’s music hits and he comes out to interrupt him before he can get his phrase out. The packed AT&T Stadium crowd goes NUTS. The great one is back. He takes his time making his way down the ramp and is soaking up the reaction from the crowd. He finally gets into the ring and the two stare each other down. The Rock gets on the mic and begins talking about how good Reigns has been over the past year. He says he is representing The Bloodline very well, but he has one thing wrong.

The Rock reiterates what Reigns just said about there being no one else for him to beat. The Rock says all of his iconic catch phrases hyping himself up and basically tells Reigns he will never be on The Rock’s level. He doesn’t officially challenge Reigns to a match quite yet, but The Rock drops the mic and goes on the corner top rope doing his iconic pose and leaves the ring while Reigns is left in the ring distraught and pissed off.

This is where I’m not too sure how they could set things up for a match, but this is how I would book The Rock’s return. Regarding the match, they could go the route of setting up a match between the two at SummerSlam, or could go the route of doing a similar buildup to Cena vs. The Rock for Mania 28 with the buildup having a span over the next year. Nonetheless, I strongly believe we will be seeing The Rock return at some point real soon and I strongly believe he will be facing off against The Head of the Table.
