Man oh man what a show tonight’s episode was. The episode started with the Lucha Bros coming out and ambushing Kazarian and Daniels before their match with the “Best Friends” Chuck and Trent, Daniels took a package piledriver onto the stage and was taken to the back and then replaced with Scorpio Sky. This was a great back and forth tag team match between SCU and the Best Friends, there were a bunch of fun spots and Scorpio Sky wrestling in jeans and no shoes was hilarious and impressive. Next up we got another tag team match with Santana and Ortiz vs. John Silver and Alex Reynolds. This was a squash match with Santana and Ortiz going over, nothing worth talking about. Then it was the AEW Women’s Championship match between Riho (C) and Britt Baker. It was an all around decent match, but I personally believe Baker should’ve won this match. I really like her and feel like she would be a great champion for AEW. Next up was a match in the World Tag Team Championship Tournament between the Lucha Bros and Jurassic Express. The Lucha Bros came out on top in an okay match, I feel like this match definitely would’ve been a lot better had Luchasaurus not gotten injured and replaced by Marko Stunt. Following this match we got yet a tag team match full of star power with Pac and Jon Moxley vs. “Hangman” Adam Page and Kenny Omega. This was a fantastic tag match with an awesome finish with Moxley flicking off Pac and dropping him after he stopped him from hitting Omega with the barbed wire bat. Now it was time for the main event. A Philadelphia street fight for the AEW World Championship between “The Painmaker” Chris Jericho (C) and Darby Allin. This was a super fun match, all of the spots Allin did with his hands taped up were awesome and very impressive. The finish was a little weak and could’ve been better, but it was still an all around good match. Overall we got a great show, but I feel like they need to have less tag matches because there is beginning to be way too many and it’s tiring. If they focus more on single matches, they’ll have an almost perfect show weekly.

The second episode of AEW Dynamite was in my hometown of Boston and had a fantastic crowd that was invested and on fire all night long. The night kicked off with a tag team match between the Young Bucks and the Private Party for the AEW Tag Team Championship tournament. This was an outstanding tag team bout full with a bunch of great and fun spots. The Young Bucks losing and going home this early in tournament was very unexpected, but a pleasant surprise. Private Party have a very bright future ahead of them. Next up we had a promo from the AEW World Champion Chris Jericho alongside Santino and Ortiz, Jake Hager, and Sammy Guevara. It was a great promo as usual from Jericho, basically just explaining his new ‘Inner Circle’. After the promo we were treated to a great match between Jimmy Havoc and Darby Allin to decide who would face Chris Jericho for the AEW World Championship next week on Dynamite. Allin came out on top after a fantastic match with a bunch of fun spots, his coffin drop finisher is one of the best finishers in the world in my opinion. I am very excited to see what the future holds for him, he is one of the fastest rising stars in AEW. Next we got the AEW Women’s World Champion Riho teaming up with “Doctor” Britt Baker to take on Emi Sakura and Bea Priestley. This was an all around good and fun tag team match with Baker and Riho coming out with the win. Next up we got Jon Moxley vs. Shawn Spears. Great match from Moxley and Spears, this feud should be real fun. I am very excited to see what the future holds for these two. After this bout we saw “Hangman” Adam Page and “The Natural” Dustin Rhodes take on AEW World Champion Chris Jericho and the self proclaimed “Best Ever” Sammy Guevara. We got a great tag team match from these four with a bunch of great tag team moves/spots. The spot where Page clotheslined Guevara then made the hot tag to Rhodes was fantastic. The show ended with MJF coming out to save Cody, then the Young Bucks coming out to save everyone then Darby Allin coming out aon his signature skateboard and attacking Jericho. A fantastic ending to a great second episode of AEW Dynamite.
