Mac Jones (QB, New England Patriots)

Simply put, Jones has gotten better and better every week this season. He wasn’t the most flashy QB in this years draft class which led to people doubting and underestimating him. He was the FIFTH QB taken in this years draft and so far has played the better than the other four QB’s taken before him. Jones has currently had the most games (five games) with 100+ passer rating amongst fellow first-round QB’s. Going into tonight’s game against the Falcons, Jones has thrown for 2,333 yards, 12 touchdowns, and just seven interceptions. He is outplaying every other rookie QB by a lot. The Patriots had a rough start to their season starting off 1-3, but the Pats have won five of their last six games and are on fire. Shockingly, the Pats now have a fighting chance to be the number one team in the AFC East over the Buffalo Bills and the way Jones has played is a big part of their success. If he stays consistent with the way he’s been playing, Jones has a real chance at becoming offensive ROTY.

Ja’Marr Chase (WR , Cincinatti Bengals)

This kid is an absolute stud. I know that Quarterbacks are famous for always taking home the offensive ROTY award, but Chase is putting up a real fight to be the first WR since OBJ in 2014 to win this award. 44 receptions, 835 receiving yards, and seven receiving TD’s. He currently ranks number five in the NFL for receiving yards behind some huge names. Chase also currently has a chance to hold the new record for all-time NFL rookie receiving yards which is huge. The current record is held by Justin Jefferson (1,379 yards). Chase is really establishing himself as an elite receiver in the NFL and could possibly walk away this season with the offensive ROTY award along with some new NFL records.

HONORABLE MENTION

Najee Harris (RB , Pittsburgh Steelers)

I don’t have much to say about Harris. He is currently ranked second in the NFL for rushing attempts and has ran for 646 yards and four touchdowns. If he goes off over the next few weeks he could be a Darkhorse for this award.
