JA MORANT IS ROOKIE OF THE YEAR

The NBA just announced that the races for the end of year NBA awards are over. Winners will be decided off of play before the NBA restart. I believe that the one award this year that is a lock is ROTY with that honor going to Memphis Grizzlies PG, Ja Morant. Going into this season everyone knew it would be either Morant or Zion Williamson taking home this award, but with Zion only playing 19 games this season due to injury Ja had more time to prove himself as ROTY. Morant’s floor vision, passing, basketball IQ, and ability to get to the basket is unreal. He averaged 17.6 PPG, 3.5 RPG, and 6.9 APG. The only other rookies to ever average 17 points and 7 assists per game were Oscar Roberson, Trae Young, Magic Johnson, Allen Iverson, and Damon Stoudamire. He had high expectations going into this season and he matched if not exceeded those expectations. The Grizzlies are currently projected to be in the playoffs holding the 8th seed in the west. I truly don’t believe the Grizzlies would be in the playoffs or in playoff talks without Ja. Morant is already arguably a top ten PG in the league in his first year in the NBA. He is a star already and is without a doubt ROTY.
