Spider-Man No Way Home is without a doubt one of the most anticipated films the MCU has ever had. Although the film is set to release this coming December we have seen almost nothing from the film. No trailers, no teaser clips, and practically no set photos. This movie has been kept very under wraps which is a big reason for the huge anticipation surrounding it. The likelihood that we see this film break Marvel box office records is very high in my opinion. It has the potential to be on the same level as Avengers : Infinity War and Avengers : Endgame.

But why is there so much hype around this Spider-Man movie? Why could it break box office records? Simple answer. The set up for this film and rumors around this film have been insane. We likely will be seeing the multiverse opened in the MCU and will be seeing all sorts of different Spider-Man characters from different timelines. The Loki Disney+ series is setting up the opening of the multiverse and the effects of the multiverse being open will be a huge play in all of the upcoming MCU projects. It is already confirmed that Doctor Strange will be appearing in Spider-Man No Way Home and will likely have a huge role in the film.

The next Doctor Strange movie, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to release three months after Spider-Man No Way Home is released in theatres. The plot of this Doctor Strange movie is likely going to be Doctor Strange having to fix and deal with all of the problems that will come with the multiverse being open. This all but guarantees that we will see the multiverse playing a huge part in No Way Home. The insane rumors around this film have been mainly surrounding actors from past Spider-Man films. Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, William Dafoe, Jamie Foxx, Alfred Molina, and a few others are the main actors rumored to be appearing in this film. Two actors who have played Spider-Man’s in the past and three actors who have played Spider-Man villains in the past. None of these actors have had roles in the MCU and if they are in this film, it would confirm the multiverse being opened as there would be all sorts of different Spider-Man characters from different realities/timelines appearing in the MCU.

My personal thoughts on all of these rumors is that we will see Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Maguire team up together to face some new form of the sinister six or just a variety of different Spider-Man villains. It could possibly be Doc Ock, Green Goblin, Electro, and three other villains or just the three of them against the three Spider-Men. We already know that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man is going to have to deal with Mysterio announcing his true identity (Peter Parker) which could also play a big part in the plot.

A personal wish of mine regarding this film would be the inclusion of Miles Morales. Morales is my personal favorite Spider-Man and seeing him introduced in live action would be amazing. We already know he exists in the MCU as in Spider-Man Homecoming we saw his Uncle, Aaron Davis refer to him in a conversation with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man.

If this film ends up being what everyone thinks it is going to be, it will without a doubt break box office records and will be one of the best and most fun MCU movies to date. We are just five months away from it’s release and are still waiting for some form of a trailer. I believe we will see a trailer at the end of this month after Loki ends. So definitely be on the lookout for that!
