UFC 228 Main Card Predictions
Written by Dylan Devine (9/6/18)
Welterweight Title fight: Tyron Woodley (C) vs. Darren Till.
Prediction- In his recent few fights Woodley has been able to move around a lot and take his time. Woodley’s past few opponents didn’t want to get to close to him because they knew he would finish them with his wrestling skills or crazy powerful left hand. Till is a fighter that is not going to back down and will control the pace of this fight making Woodley uncomfortable. Till via third-round TKO.
Men’s Lightweight division fight: Zabit Magomedsharipov vs. Brandon Davis.
Prediction – Davis has no chance at matching Zabit’s wrestling skills in this fight. I think Zabit is going to find an easy take-down and finish Davis quickly. Magomedsharipov via first-round submission.
Women’s Strawweight division fight: Jessica Andrade vs. Karolina Kowalkiewicz.
Prediction – Both of these woman have two straight wins and need to get a victory this fight to get a title fight against Rose Namajunas. Andrade is a very aggressive and powerful grappler so Kowalkiewicz is going to definitely need to improve her take-down defense if she wants that title fight. I see this fight going five rounds and being very back and forth, but Andrade gets the victory. Andrade via decision.
Men’s Welterweight division fight: Abdul Razak Alhassan vs. Niko Price.
Prediction – Nine first-round knockout victories against nine professional wins, Alhassan is a violent man. Price is nicknamed the “Judo Thnder” and is great at pressuring his opponent into take-downs, but he is no match for Alhassan’s all-offense approach. Alhassan via third-round TKO.
